Please join ASCE San Jose and APWA Silicon Valley Chapter at our 2014 joint meeting starting off the new year to learn about South Bayside System Authority's (SBSA) $339 million 10-year Capital Improvement Program to improve the reliability and efficiency of its regional wastewater system and facilities.  Kim Hackett, SBSA's Director of Engineering, will talk about the creation of the Capital Improvement Program, financing options, and projects that have been completed and/or are currently underway.

SBSA is a regional wastewater treatment plant in Redwood Shores owned by the cities of Belmont, Redwood City, and San Carlos, and the West Bay Sanitary District, which services Menlo Park, Portola Valley, and portions of Atherton, Woodside, East Palo Alto, Redwood City, and San Mateo County. The mission of the SBSA is to provide wastewater treatment for the communities served in compliance with regulatory standards; to develop staff and technical capabilities to provide service in a reliable and efficient manner in accordance with the highest technical, environmental, and safety standards; to provide long-range planning to maintain the investment in personnel and equipment; to provide for the future needs of the communities served; and to provide leadership and direction to the communities based on dedication to the common good and commitment to public service.
